Mellow Mushroom midtown will be abuzz tomorrow, Wednesday, June 6, 2012.

Ruby Redd, drag queen host of Birdcage Bingo, will present Lost-n-Found Youth with a check representing the largest monthly fundraising total in the event’s history. The event’s previous
monthly fundraising record was $1,400.

Each month, Ruby and her band of drag queens perform for Mellow Mushroom diners, whose tips to the drag queens are donated to the month’s charity. This month, the adult-oriented
event has collected a record amount of tips for the benefit of Lost-n-Found, an Atlanta-based charity providing shelter and support to homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth.

“Our youth clients, our volunteers and our board are incredibly grateful for the support of Ruby Redd, Birdcage Bingo performers, and Mellow Mushroom,” said Paul Swicord, board member and treasurer for Lost-n-Found. “We invite the community to come and enjoy the show and witness this milestone in Birdcage Bingo history.”
