Alvin Huntspon Joined LNFYs Board of Directors in January 2018

(Atlanta, Georgia) – Lost-n-Found Youth is pleased to announce the new appointment of Alvin Huntspon, a corporate governance professional, to the Board of Directors. Mr. Huntspon has been recognized as a rising star in his industry for driving good corporate governance and implementing change at a Fortune 5 Company. Among his many accolades is his work in operating a successful shareholder engagement outreach program. His corporate governance team’s impressive efforts have been recognized by the New York Stock Exchange Governance, Risk & Compliance Leadership Awards, Corporate Secretary Magazine, Financial Times, and Bloomberg Law.

Mr. Huntspon, a graduate of Morehouse College, has a long history of giving back to the Atlanta community including service to Fulton County Court Appointed Special Advocates, a non-profit that advocates for abused and neglected children in the Fulton County court system. He has spent the past two years working closely with a non-profit called Every Woman Works, moving women from dependency to self-sufficiency, as co-chairman of its largest annual fundraiser, Stars Dancing To Change Lives. For the past nine years he has served at Impact Church as a volunteer in the Worship & Arts Department. Previously, as a native of Monterey, California, Mr. Huntspon served extensively in juvenile detention centers as a guest speaker and counselor to young men in solitary confinement while working for a non-profit, successfully expanding outreach for the organization.

“As an advocate for those who are homeless, without shelter or support,” Huntspon said, “I feel a need to stand in the gap for our forgotten LGBTQ+ youth. They have been discarded, discriminated against, and rejected by families, churches, and loved ones. These scenarios have, sadly, left many of them without hope and, oftentimes, a desire to live. I can relate to feeling lost and broken because I once felt that way, but through the support of committed individuals and personal soul-searching, I persevered and overcame. Unfortunately, that is not the case for everyone. I am dedicated to seeing the youth of Lost-n-Found fulfill their purpose and live successful lives.”
