Volunteer activities have resumed! For the health and safety of our volunteers, staff, and clients during the COVID-19 outbreak, we are taking all proper precautions. The health and safety of our community is our highest priority.
At Lost-n-Found Youth, volunteers are essential to our success. There are opportunities for everyone to be involved in the work we are doing to end homelessness for Atlanta’s LGBTQ youth. We welcome individuals and groups to sort donations at our thrift store, provide a meal at the youth center, engage in street outreach, and more. Click here to register for our upcoming volunteer orientations. For more information, contact Danielle Williams, Volunteer and Development Coordinator at [email protected]
Our Volunteer Program
Volunteers are an integral part of our work. We appreciate everyone who gives us the gift of their time.
Make an impact today by becoming a Lost-n-Found Volunteer today!
Volunteer orientations will be held every Tuesday at 12:00 pm, every third Thursday ay 6:00pm and the first Saturday of each month at 11:00 am. Orientations provide an in-depth look at the history of our organization and discover ways in which you can give your time to help end homelessness for Atlanta’s LGBTQ youth.
Please bring $20 to cover the cost of your background check. We accept cash, credit or debit card, Venmo (@LostnFoundYouth), PayPal (Paypal.me/lostnfoundyouth), and Cash App ($LostnFoundYouth).
Orientation is NOT required to volunteer at our Thrift Store. A waiver must be signed prior to the start of your shift. Click here to schedule a shift at Lost-n-Found Thrift Store.
If you would like to host a volunteer orientation for your employee resource group, school group, or faith community, or to schedule group volunteer activities, contact Danielle Williams, Volunteer and Development Coordinator, at [email protected] or (470) 346-0389.
Our street outreach volunteers work with our Outreach Coordinator to reach youth on the streets experiencing homelessness so that they know our services are available.
Volunteers help with processing and sorting donated items to the store. You can volunteer at the thrift store any time during business hours without first attending an orientation. Have an hour to spare? We can always use some help sorting donations. Orientation is not required, but you must sign a waiver upon arrival.
We engage volunteers at our transitional house to help with overnight needs. We also host groups at the transitional house to do minor repairs and yard projects.
Our youth center volunteers assist the youth center staff by assisting with check-in, serving meals, engaging clients in conversation and leading enrichment programs.
