Volunteers Are Essential
At Lost-n-Found Youth, volunteers are essential to our success. We welcome individuals and groups to sort donations at our thrift store, provide a meal at the youth center, engage in street outreach, and more.
ways to volunteer
meal train
You can bring home-cooked meals to Lost-n-Found! Sign up to provide and serve a meal for our youth at the Youth Center.
Youth center
Our youth center volunteers assist the youth center staff by assisting with check-in, serving meals, engaging clients in conversation and leading enrichment programs.
thrift store
Volunteers help with processing and sorting donated items to the store. You can volunteer at the thrift store any time during business hours without first attending an orientation.
Youth Home
We engage volunteers at our transitional house to help with overnight needs. We also host groups at the transitional house to do minor repairs and yard projects.
street outreach
Youth on the street learn to protect themselves emotionally and physically to prevent being hurt. This instinctive ‘survival’ behavior creates a vicious cycle. Too often, youth lose themselves on the streets and don’t know how to find their way back. Our street outreach program is comprised entirely of volunteers who actively search for homeless youth living on the street to offer assistance.
Statistically, we have less than 48 hours to connect with a newly homeless youth with services before they turn to criminal activity such as theft, panhandling, prostitution or drugs to survive. We are one of the few youth services organizations in Atlanta who connect youth in crisis with a live person who is willing to be an advocate for their needs.
