Our Program

We provide volunteer orientations prior to welcoming new members of the community to help us with our mission. Volunteers who wish to work directly with clients are asked to consent to a background check. We encourage everyone who consents to a background check to make a $20 donation to cover the cost associated with background checks.

Volunteer orientation meetings are conducted on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. and the second Sunday at 3 p.m. at 2585 Chantilly Drive, Atlanta, GA, 30324. Check out Events for the next sessions.

If you are interested in interested in volunteering at Lost-n-Found Youth, please fill out the application below. You can reach Ashley Robinson, Volunteer and Development Coordinator with any questions at ashley@lost-n-found.org or (470) 346-0389.

Street Outreach

Youth on the street learn to protect themselves emotionally and physically to prevent being hurt.  Our street outreach volunteers actively search for homeless youth living on the street to offer assistance.

Youth Center

Our youth center volunteers staff the facility and provide LGBTQ youth with a safe place to come for resources and referral services.

Housing Program

We operate a transitional housing program in Atlanta’s West End which will move to Midtown once our home on Juniper Street has been renovated. Volunteers provide a safe place for our youth and assist with resources or referral services as well as serve as mentors, case managers and skills coaches. Additional responsibilities can include running dinners, shopping for the house, providing basic maintenance, organizing movie nights or other events in and outside the house.

Thrift and Consignment Store

Our paid staff in our retail operation can always use a few extra hands processing and sorting the intake of donated items to the store. People with retail or merchandising experience are helpful, but not required.

Administrative

Lost-n-Found Youth also has a number of ‘back-office’ types of opportunities including grant writing, public speaking, communications, event planning and project management.

Creative

Lost-n-Found Youth publishes web, social media and print materials frequently throughout the year.  We can always use volunteer support to provide relevant, high-quality photography and graphic design assets.  Please contact us to learn about our current and upcoming design needs.
